Poems in the Trees
Poems in the trees? Check it out! Tucked between branches, peeking from behind a trailing vine or tacked to the trunk of an old maple, bite-size poems have materialized along the Intervale’s popular Calkins Trail for the rest of October.
And don’t blame it on the woodland elves. The poems were created by our very own members. Want to unleash your inner writer? Be sure to explore all our free workshops covering all genres, from flash fiction and short story writing to novel, creative non-fiction and so much more – most via zoom. Remember you are always welcome to try new things and spread your wings or maybe pens.
Come join us for the last gasp of summer and the beginning of fall.
See you on the Calkins Trail this fall, and at our workshop!

DIRECTIONS:
Drive down Intervale Road. Pass the Intervale Center at 180.
The road then turns to gravel. Keep going past the first trailhead parking, 282 Intervale Road, and park at the next lot.
Start at the trailhead with the boulders and walk past the People’s Farm towards the Calkins River Trail. Cross the farm road into the woods and turn left at the junction of the Gottesman Living Memorial and Intervale Conservation Nursery.
NB: July’s catastrophic flood was a boon to mosquitoes – bring repellent and don’t be afraid to use it!
