It’s time for Halloween!!!

A free flash Horror fiction workshop! Just in time for Halloween, here’s a chance to explore the dark side of the page, two sentences at a time.

We’ll start by briefly exploring the twisted roots of our cultural fascination with horror. Then we’ll look under the bed, figuratively speaking. What frightened or disturbed you as a child? How about now? We’ll scribble a short list (repeating the mantra “Fear fuels our fiction” for courage). And now for the fun part: writing a (vampire) bite-size story. Can you terrify us in two sentences? Do you dare? And if you care to share your flash, we’ll tear it to shreds–respectfully, of course.
