Masterclass: Break Into Literary Publishing, Sept 26

Want to see your work published in literary magazines and grow your reputation as a writer? Curious about how the process works?

Get the big picture of the industry as well as specific steps you can take today to get your work under consideration. Even if you’ve never tried before or tried and felt discouraged, Vermont poet Max Roland Ekstrom will walk you through the process. This Masterclass will focus on building a positive stance toward putting yourself out there. He’ll also break down common misconceptions that may be holding you back from your potential as a writer.

Join writers on Saturday, September 26 from 10 am until Noon on Zoom, A suggested $10 minimum donation made to the Burlington Writers Workshop is appreciated to attend this masterclass.

This seminar includes a practicum. Please come ready with either:

  • TEN of your best unpublished poems or
  • TWO of your best unpublished creative prose works.

“We will work with the time available to prepare your work for submission,” Max says. “I’m optimistic we can both raise some money and help some folks publish.”

Max’s poetry appears frequently in literary journals, with recent publication in Confrontation, Hubbub, Delmarva Review, The Comstock Review, Ibbetson Street, and many others. He has been anthologized in Hunger Enough: Living Spiritually in a Consumer Society, from Pudding House, and in Except for Love: New England Poets Inspired by Donald Hall, from Encircle Publications. He holds an MFA from Emerson College.
